Miranda Hersey

I am a communications specialist, writer, editor, and author. For more than two decades, I have worked with businesses and nonprofits to craft compelling content products and marketing collateral, engaging seamlessly with in-house staff and/or utilizing my team of specialized subcontractors.

With a focus on inclusive marketing and accessible user experience, I have served as managing editor for clients in health care, publishing, academia, and online retail. I have developed and edited fiction and nonfiction manuscripts ranging from photography to otolaryngology. My portfolio includes case studies for the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship at Babson College.

I also publish under my personal byline. My work has appeared in the Boston Globe, the Boston Globe Magazine, Wild Apples, Sun Magazine, and Bay Area Parent, among other print and online publications. Shortlisted for the Raymond Carver Short Fiction Award, in 2018 I was a finalist in the Rick DeMarinis Short Story Contest and the Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards Competition. In 2019, I won the Rilla Askew Short Fiction Prize.

I am the author of three illustrated life-design journals, Life By DesignThe Power of Quiet, and Press Pause, as well as Midnight Meditations for Moms, all published by Castle Point Books/St. Martin's Press.
